Nutanix API configuration

Add SNMP community in Prism Element

  1. Connect to Prism Element and go to Settings :

  1. In Network part, open the SNMP page :
  1. Then, in the main page, choose Users panel, and click on the New User button :
  1. Fill in UserName field and 2 keys and click on Save button :

  1. Connect to SHWETT extranet : http://extranet.shwett.com and go to the SNMP / API page :

  1. At the center of the page, click on the SNMP button :

  1. In the popup, choose version 3 of SNMP and fill in fields with the username and keys entered in Prism Element :
  1. Click on Submit button to finish

User account creation on Prism Element

  1. Connect to Prism Element and go to Settings :

  1. In the Users and Roles section, open the Local User Management page :

  1. Then click on the New User button :
  1. Fill in fields : username, first name, last name, email and password :

  1. Click on Save button.

  1. Connect to SHWETT extranet : http://extranet.shwett.com and go to the SNMP / API page :

  1. At the center of the page, click on the API button :
  1. In the popup, choose Nutanix and Prism Element :

  1. Fill in the Prism Element IP address, the port, the username and the password of the user created before :

Shwett can now request Nutanix API to detect the hypervisors, vswitches and VMs.
